最近電視猛打剛由Hugh Grant 和 Drew Barrymore 主演的新片”Music and Lyrics”廣告. 老實說這看似八股的劇情一點都不吸引我,尤其看到台灣的廣告所打出的”最好的約會電影” 更讓我覺得一定過於美化而興趣缺缺. 再說有點厭煩了 Hugh Grant 近幾年的電影老是逃脫不了己被定型的害羞小生或是瀟灑風流公子哥的角色(電影”Notting Hill" 及”About A Boy”的劇情除外), 所以這部片基本上 鐵定不會出現在我們預備看的電影清單之中.

不過我今天倒是聽到了電台在播放電影原聲帶的主題曲. 說真格的, Hugh Grant 的聲音能發專輯倒叫人意外, 由於他在戲中飾演的是一位曾經在80年代紅極一時的流行巨星, 所以當然他是一定要獻聲了, 只不過是一出手就是8首歌… 音質談不上好, 是有點難為聽眾的耳朵了. 不過這只是我個人的感覺, 既然Hugh Grant 能出輯也就有他一定的賣點, 這在唱片市場行銷是不變的道理.

主題曲的錄音室配唱版本” Way Back Into Love” 的旋律是首一聽就可以朗朗上口的芭藥歌, 我對女主角Drew Barryware的聲音感到驚豔, 雖然她没有好的技巧, 加上一開始可能是演出”真的”緊張, 聲音並没有完全出來, 但副歌之後却是漸入佳境, 而且她的嗓音頗有民歌的清新味, 有這樣一點點與澳洲樂團Frente 女主唱詮釋” Bizarre Love Traingle”的acoustic版本的聲音相似.

因為男主角身為80年代的超級巨星, 整張專輯也免不了要有80年代英式浪漫搖滾樂風的元素, 也囊括了承襲娜姐上張專輯回歸80年代復古風, 從迪斯可到電子舞曲, 讓我連想到當時80年代英國流行樂壇的Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran等的音樂, 可謂集大成而一身. 只是一首號稱媲美Wham!時期的George Michael 經典浪漫情歌“Careless Whisper” 的“Meaningless Kiss” 讓我聽完則是#%^@, 實在無言以對.

想要重溫80年代音樂的朋友是可以姑且一聽啦, 其實音樂旋律方面還悅耳; 但每個人各司其職, 我想這位風流倜儻的Hugh Grant演戲還是比唱歌更能讓他的影迷有更多的幻想空間吧. 套一句巧手蘿拉曾說過的一句話:上帝是公平的~有一張帥臉的人就不見得有一付好嗓子. 我可不是亂講的, 有例為證, 上去咕狗搜尋音樂專輯名稱”Hollywood Goes Wild”, 答案便可揭曉.
